The following list includes our favourites and recommendations with a few notes about those that particularly welcome families and those that are a bit special if you’re celebrating an occasion.
The Pheasant Inn on Crosthwaite Road
A traditional pub serving high-quality food and local real ales (Jennings) with indoor and outdoor dining options. Open for lunches as well as evening meals.
Sultan of Keswick
Great Indian food and a warm welcome in the centre of town. Open for evening meals only.
The Wainwright pub on Lake Road
Recently refurbished and already developing a good reputation for its food with locals and visitors alike. Very family friendly.
Bank Tavern
One of Keswick’s oldest hostelries and a family favourite of ours. We can recommend the Sizzlers!
The Square Orange
Ideal if you have teenagers with you. This place started out as a great place for coffee in Keswick but now has a good reputation for live music and a varied menu including tapas too.
Woodstone Pizza and Flame Grill
Does what it says on the tin and the pizzas are amazing. Steaks, burgers, chicken and kebabs are on the menu too.
Cassa Bella
Every town needs a lovely family-run Italian restaurant and this is Keswick’s! Highly recommended for all ages and leave room for a gelato – they make their own.
Golden Hills Chinese Restaurant
Popular with both locals and visitors, Golden Hills has a brilliant menu selection and there’s a good atmosphere in the restaurant too.
