Wildlife:
The Northern Lakes are a refuge for rare and exciting wildlife. Peregrine Falcons soar over crag and fell. Red squirrels still haunt many woods and Ospreys have returned to breed near Bassenthwaite just North of Keswick. The RSPB viewpoint is less than 10 mins drive from Burnside B&B.
History:
Burnside B&B is less than 10 mins walk from Castlerigg Stone Circle an ancient monument dating back to 1300 BC. Hadrians Wall and other Roman sites can be easily accessed along with country houses and the homes of Wordsworth, Ruskin and Beatrix Potter and much more.
