About Sharon & Peter Garner, Keswick
Sharon was born & bred in Threlkeld village 4 miles east of Keswick. Sharon attended Threlkeld then Keswick School and after school started training as a confectioner with John Bryson - Master Bakers of Keswick. By the age of 21 Sharon was promoted to Head Confectioner and managed Bryson's Confectionary Dept. as well as working part-time as an accomplished professional caterer.
Peter moved to Keswick in 1986 to help his parents in their, then, new business Lakeside Holiday Park. Sharon & Peter met in that year and married in 1988. Peter continued working in the family business until 1999 then started a 3 year 'career' in public affairs and purchased 'Burnside' with Sharon. After considerable refurbishment and upgrading work Sharon and Peter opened Burnside B&B in October 2003.
In their spare time Sharon & Peter enjoy watching sons Thomas & Harry play rugby for Keswick RUFC, Keswick School, & Cumbria. While Sharon enjoys cooking and her annual shopping/theatre trip to London or Edinburgh; Peter enjoys walking, birdwatching, field archery and a yearly backpacking/birdwatching trip to the Scottish Highlands.
